A ACUPRESSURE SESSION

The most important point is that one should go to an experienced and knowledgeable doctor for an acupressure session. The doctor should be able to diagnose the root cause of the disease. There are some disorders that can be diagnosed by Pulse Reading, Sensing Chi flow and its potential blockades, facial diagnosis, Acupoints diagnosis. Once the doctor diagnoses the root cause of the disease, then the actual process of curing the disease, through acupressure should be started.

The therapist should make the patient feel comfortable with the surroundings. The patient should be relaxed before taking the treatment since any kind of tension or nervousness could prove as an obstacle in the process of giving treatment. The patient should be lying down in the straight posture. The universal rule for the therapist is to take a position that soothes his mind.

The therapist should start the treatment by placing his palm of one hand over the forehead of the patient and the other behind the nape of his neck. This position is basically used for reducing pressure as the energy flows from the back to the front is restored. Some therapist applies, another technique for reducing stress called kinesiology. In this technique, the therapist places the tips of the three principal fingers of both hands on the two vertical lines just above the patient’s eyes. The position is continued till he finds the pulse. Generally, the result cannot be expected on the same time since the parts of the brain does not work in the balanced way. The therapist is required, that he should simultaneously release the pressure that has been initiated by putting strokes, this can be done at the time when the patient is taking deep breath in order to bring balance.

The therapist should make his patient aware of his/her root cause of the disorder. For example, if the patient is suffering from backache due to strain then he should be getting the treatment for the stress, rater than the backache. The therapist is required to search the area with deep strokes made by the tips of the fingers, until the affected point is found which suffers a sharp pain. Sometimes this sensation starts with a feeling of jerky feeling and after sometimeĀ  the part becomes immune. But sometimes it causes some itching feeling at the part of the body. For the beginners it might be little difficult of bear these strokes but later he/she would become used to it. The duration of the pressure on the affected point should be applied for 15 to 30 seconds and the same procedure should be repeated on the other side of the body. By using these methodsĀ  the therapist basically release the accumulated tension on that part of the body, and you can notice that in the form of perspiration, or the release of gas, which is accompanied by the sense of relaxation. When a condition occurs in which the symptom is not be able to find any relief even by stimulating the correct point , the healer should move on to the next point or points that are listed for that symptom.

There should be direct and intimate contact between the therapist and the patient, since it becomes very important for the therapist to study the condition of the patient and his/her reactions while the energies are released. It is believed that the third eye is useful for concentration. So the therapist puts the pressure on the points that affects the third eye, and it enables to activate the power of concentration, which helps the patient to use it while taking the treatment and healing will be more rapid and effective.

Reflex points are examined and pressed on the eyebrows, forehead, and the area beneath the eyebrows at the hole between the bone and eye. By this process, the healer explores a particular hard and painful texture that is small muscles for the movement of the eyes. The action sets out an energy that kinesiology terms as optimistic emotional charge. Subsequently, the header presses below the eyes, which is the first point of the stomach, then the nose, cheek, and other points of the face, ears, and finally on the head up the backside of the nape of the neck.

After that, the therapist presses the points placed on the neck and back points of the patient form his side. It is suggested that to find the blocked parts the therapist should to do a mild test on points on both sides of the spine. After, locating the affected points the healer goes from top to bottom. To get best results, the nearest part to the spine is pressed first and then the points on the outer parts are pressed going from top to bottom and from shoulder to lumber through the pelvic area.

Main disorders of vertebra and spine can be treated by gentle massage between fixed vertebras. The circular movements are started with mild strokes on the healthy part, and then slowly move towards the painful and damaged parts with extra care. Then come back with the same rotating movements to the healthy part to simulate the natural process of correction. For the total healing of disorder, the vigorous causes should be corrected simultaneously. The same treatment the healer givens to the points on the back part of the legs. Then he examines with repetitive movements through the points on the front part of the body from top to bottom, moving down to pelvic area, then to the arms, hands and then to the front part of the legs. To finish with, the points on the feet are stimulated.

The treatment of reflexology is different from acupressure treatment. Since the treatment of acupressure is concerned by giving right way to the energy paths that are imbalanced in the body, the reflexology produces electric waves by massage to restore the organs back to good health. The organs or functions are stimulated indirectly in reflexology. This treatment is like a mirror showing the real image to the organs and tells the body to heal it. The distinction between reflexology and acupressure lies in the difference between the ways of pressing.

Theory of Priority:

Even person has his/her different type and schedule of work during a day. Their nature of job, capacity of work and circumstances are different according to the wants of every body. In the same way the needs of the reflex points are stimulated accordingly during a session. For example, if a person applies his mind for most of the day, so automatically he can improve the capacity of his memory cells by applying pressure to relevant points. This practice stimulates the brain from conscious and unconscious memories that consume a lot of energy. After giving relief to the brain, the energy flow can move freely. This energy flow can be used for optimistic work.

It is suggested that during an acupressure session, the therapist should directly contact the blocked area. Also by dong some stretching exercises like Qui-gong has proved beneficial. The healer should start the treatment from the head, since brain is the most affected part and all the energies are generated through it. The therapist should only corrects the effects produced and reflected on different parts of his body, when the patient relaxes on his own and relieves himself from all the tensions and anxieties. Psychotherapy proved to be most helpful in liberating the aroused emotional and mental stress.

Usually, the therapists stimulate the points at the back after the head and face. This is done since the back is the most essential area where mental and physical work is reflected. The function of the spinal cord is to take the order from the brain and circulate in to the other parts of the body. This denotes that our body reflects what the brain tells it to do. After that, the healer tells the patient to turn over the moves towards the back part of the legs and then moves on the front part of the trunk. By doing this way, energy is supplied to the functions and organs of the body in relation to the emotions that cause hormonal changes after the changes impact become higher on them.

Although there is no prescribed order in which the points are to be pressed, it is advisable to press them in the sequential order during the session. Also it is not essential that all points on the meridian should be pressed. The therapist discovers the contracted points that are painful and can work on them accordingly. All points are placed on the both sides, but their functions do not necessarily have the same level of intensity. This implies that both sides needs not function in the same manner. The normal procedure says that the hemispheres and sides of the brain do not work in unison. Also they do not function in the same manner of every person. The front part basically plays an important part in the concentration and creativity consciousness leads to imply the thought of work. The back part or hypothalamus area helps the body to work and provides a feeling of protection. This part feeds every traumatic memory and registers fears from the past. Kinesiology named it as integration common area. By putting pressure on these points, energy is restored back and proves very helpful for releasing stress. By putting pressure on the painful reflex points, the healer gradually increases the intensity of pressure according to the priority, than the patient can be cured quickly. On the other hand, it does not mean that he can put strong pressure on every painful point the pressure should be increased according to the requirement of the point.

By putting correct pressure on the related reflex points, energy flow is resumed to the meridians and sub-meridians along various parts of body like cramps, etc. Then it passes through the hands and finally to the feet. The power of concentration of the patient and his determination to work on his body plays a vital role. The gentle pressures that are made by the healer’s fingers can be responded to by an alert and sensitive patient who can feel mild electric pricks that denote the next points to be worked.

But it is not necessary that the prickly sensation would affect the adjacent point on the meridian of the body. When the therapist presses the priority points located at the chest area for the adequate time, the patient might feel mild electrical pricks in different parts of the body. Then the next point should be pressed, as when the healer presses a priority point, the energy flows quickly and moves through the body. So it is suggested to flow the path of energy flow, since the energy moves quickly and directly to the causes of discomfort. This rapid flow of the energy is occurred due to the messages sent by the brain. Brain sends directions not only knowingly or on the basis of some reason, but there are series of messages that travel through an indirect way. So all the energy flows with agreement of those messages. Moreover, some are points other than the reflex points on the meridian. The therapist can find a painful point anywhere and he has to apply appropriate pressure to it depending on its quality and patient’s need. The method is not only confined to points, but the therapist has to concentrate on the correct type of pressure and apply it on the right place.

Aids of Foot Reflexology:

While taking the treatment of foot reflexology. The therapist put efforts to relax the patient’s feet. The treatment can be applied in four ways.

  1. The therapist massages the top and sides of the feet and ankle.
  2. Then the feet are twisted by the therapist’s hands.
  3. Then, he rotates all the toes and ankles in both clockwise and anti-clockwise directions.
  4. Finally, he pulls and stretches all the fingers in one continuous and smooth movement.

The therapist massages the upper part of the foot with constant pressure by moving fingertips in the five zones of the body. His fingers move away from the heart towards the toes.
